Extended Due Date for Form 990 Approaching
/If your organization filed for an automatic extension of time to file Form 990 by May 15, 2014, the deadline to file is Friday, August 15, 2014. If your organization still needs more time to file, you may apply for an additional not automatic 3-month extension of time to file. extending the due dale to November, 15, 2014. In order to receive this extension by filing Form 8868, you must have filed for and received the original 3-month automatic extension which was due by May 15th, and also show reasonable cause for needing the additional time. A couple reasons that are commonly used include, "The organization is, awaiting completion of its annual independent audit." OR "Additional time is requested in order to assemble informalion necessary to file a complete and accurate Form 990."
